XII Voyager upper trunk lights stay on
Parked bike at work, came back 10 hours later and upper trunk/tail/parking light were on. Nothing else. Moved handlebars and they went out. Battery to low to start, but got a jump start and fired right up, everything works. Thought wire around switch, was going out. Tore into it this morning and all wires look good, no breaks or even wear on wires...... what else should I look for?? Thanks for the help!

Re: XII Voyager upper trunk lights stay on
It sounds as though you may have mistakenly turned the key all the way to the right, clockwise to the PARK position which will lock the steering AND leave the tail and marker lights ON, as well as locking the steering. The LOCK only without lights position is all the way to the left, counterclockwise.
I have done this once when I was in a hurry/not paying attention and I won't do it again.
If you are sure this isn't the case, and the tail/marker lights are still occasionally staying on, then something is amiss within the ignition switch sliding contacts I suspect.
Just my take on it,
Dave

Re: XII Voyager upper trunk lights stay on
I think you, sir, hit the nail on the head! It was all the way to the right, and though I was making no attempt to lock it there, I may have inadvertently done so. Glad you mentioned that you can lock it to the right and leave marker lights on. Was not aware of that! Never have needed to mess with locking it. Thanks so much for the help! At least I know my wires, and connectors are clean, sealed and in good shape!
