lower cowling trim

Post by Nails »

This (53044-1161) apparently is back ordered from the factory with no availability date. I've check lots of places, local and in Webistan. It's to send hot air out the vents instead of on your leg.
Has anyone found a good generic replacement for this trim piece? Right now, I'm looking at duct tape.

Partzilla sure isn't. Twice now, I've ordered maybe a dozen items. Of course, some back-ordered. They shipped the in-stock stuff just fine, with an anticipated arrival date to ship the rest. But both times, one item was seriously back-ordered, and it held up the rest of the back-ordered items. In both cases, the problem was a non-critical item, like this cowling trim; and the two fricking O-rings I need to put the forks and the radiator pipes back together have been just sitting somewhere. So, it's a week after when I expected things to ship, to find out that nothing shipped. No other word from Partzilla -- they just waited for me to notice. This after I paid extra for both expedited shipping and partial shipments.
Partzilla sucks. They might have good prices, but they've been directly responsible for over a month's delay. (Yeah, I'm kinda steamed about it.)
If you ever order anything from Partzilla, be sure to bug them about shipping the back-orders. I suppose mine wouldn't ship for weeks yet if I didn't fuss about it. Everywhere else I called today said "two weeks" -- meaning they had no idea.
Grrr!
(And I didn't notice it on Ebay or Amazon, anyway. The advertised ones I checked also were back-ordered, whether the website said so or not. I called.)
Okay, it's after noon, so I'm going to get a beer and settle down. ;)

For some unknown reason, I suddenly can't access the XII forum page. But I was able to get here by hitting a previously-saved bookmark and then using Search. Weird.

viewforum.php?f=15 redirects to https://amervoyassoc.org/500.shtml and returns "[an error occurred while processing this directive]". Maybe I'm finally blacklisted.

That EBay link did indeed yield a trim piece. One left. I need two.

But Gator Mike stepped forward with a second one.

With any luck other than the kind I've been having, I'll be on the road next week. :woohoo:

Me either. Even when I hit "Return to “General - Voyager XII (1200 Four)” at the bottom, it fails.
I basically can't use the forum now -- can't see any new posts. :cry2:

Apologies for dragging Gawd and everybody else through this.
I can get to the forum home, but not "General - Voyager XII (1200 Four)".
I deleted the cookies, but that didn't help.
Not sure what is meant by a "catched link". I'm just hitting various links to "General - Voyager XII (1200 Four)", and none work. Evidently Gawd doesn't want me there. But I'm an awfully persistent sinner.

.. what web browser are you using? I'll assume you have at least 2 browsers on your
PC, do both respond the same? I have an apple and use Firefox, but Apple insists you
have Safari also... many also have Chrome... nice to have two for comparison...

Now no mater what Browser you are using if you put them in to incognito/private browsing, you will automatically by pass all cookies and cached images.

For Internet Explorer Fire fox, and Edge you hold down the CTL key and at the same time hold down the SHIFT key and and while holding both of those keys down press the P key.
For Safari and Chrome you hold down the CTL key and at the same time hold down the SHIFT key and and while holding both of those keys down press the P key.

Browser will change color this is normal. As soon as you close the browser your browser will return to normal.
Also when Incognito/Private browser you will have to log in because there are no cookies being used and it may take a little bit longer to load ans it is not using any of the cached images being stored

Now what this will is by pass any Cookies and Cached images. If the web site will load by doing this it will tell you that the issue lies whit either the cookies or you cached images.
Most likely this error is being caused by the cached images. If you would delete these it forces the browser to reload all current images. also by just deleting these it will not affect logins that you may have set with other websites. so when ever you delete your cookies hopefully you have a record of what they are or you remember what they are.
