Starter questions
On my bike ('90 XII) have noticed that the bike is a little reluctant to start when warmed up, and after searching through the forums have learned that Ma Kaw changed the starter from a 2-brush model to a 4-brush model at some point during the production run. Have looked online and found some new starters available on ebay for about $100, has anyone had any experiences with these? Is there anything I should look out for if I'm going from the older style to the newer one? Thanks

Re: Starter questions
The 4 brush starter is plug and play, nothing to do but hook up the wire.
They are bulletproof and I haven't come across a bad one on eBay yet, and I have purchased 3 so far. Admittedly I did
polish the commutators, checked them for internal shorts, of which there were none, and checked the brushes for wear, which was negligible.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I should have the need.
