Hi, I've check the IC Ignitor resistances against those listed in the manual that is posted on the site (Page 15-18). I get different resistances on some pins.
Some of mine are infinite, where the table in the book indicates that they should be 3.6-5.5 k-ohms or 13-24 k-ohms
My bike is:
Serial Number:JKAZG9B13PB505469
IC Igniter Part #: 2119-1248
Does anyone have a service manual for 1993 V XII? If so I'd like to know if it also lists the IC Igniter resistances (between pins) and if those are the same as the resistances listed in the posted manual (which is for 1986 model year).
I don't have the prescribed test meter. Instead I have a Fluke 75. Is that important?
Thanks
Martin

Re: Igniter Resistance Pin Checks
The service manual in my signature should cover all the years of the Voyager XII.

Re: Igniter Resistance Pin Checks
I am not sure of this but would there be any different readings between the 21119-1179 igniter and the post 1988 model 21119-1248 igniter?

Re: Igniter Resistance Pin Checks
Tried doing resistance check of ignitor a few years back with Pete Franchi. Could test most pins but it seems that there were a few that needed a factory tester. Best bet is trying to borrow a ignitor from someone who has an extra. Also Carl Leo will tell you that it is very uncommon for an ignitor to fail.
