I would like to put a side car on a 1200 Is there any big problems that I might face in doing so? I would appreciate any help.

There is a member on the Voyager 1300 six forum who uses the name "trikebldr" and who has mounted sidecars to his ZN1300s.
The fabrication of the necessary struts, braces etc. looked to extremely well thought out and executed. If anyone could offer some general insight it would be him.
Maybe drop a post on that forum site and see what comes of it.

Most bikes offer a lot of frame exposure in the right areas for attaching a sidecar to the bike, but not so on the 1200 and 1300 Voyagers. They offer a real challenge to correctly hooking one up. If you've never mounted one before, it's a long learning curve and you had better have some serious fabrication skills and equipment. Don't forget, you will be leaning a very heavy bike against those mounts in left-hand turns and you don't want them to collapse or even bend.

If you were anywhere near the Kansas City area I would love to help you hook one up. Which sidecar are you looking at? Every now and then complete sidecar rigs, color coordinated even, show up for sale. Most are well kept and would be a great way to start out. The 1300 Voyagers lend themselves better to being a tug since they have more torque and pull harder under load. So far this year I have seen three of them set up with sidecars for sale. Haven''t seen any 1200's set up for sale yet this year. I just bought a 2001 Voyager XII a couple of months ago, so will go sit and stare at it and see if it looks feasable.
