Not what I would do
As I was heading out of Mansfield with a grain truck waiting for a stop light,I watched a Harley go by with apehanger bars, then noticed the rider was texting while he was riding on State Route 13 through Mansfield.
First I ever saw a biker texting while riding, shouldn't he be focused on where he is going?

Re: Not what I would do
Bikers' have their share of stupid people:
1. The idiots on their crotch rockets doing 100mph in traffic.
2. Going through Indianapolis, IN, on the interstate, an idiot wearing no helmet or shirt was tailgating my car at 80MPH. I slowed down so he could pass and just get away from me.
3. Driving East on I-64 near Louisville, KY, the Westbound lane had a long row of construction barrels for a few miles. I saw a rider on a cruiser weaving in and out of the barrels.
4. On a county road, I waved at another biker, passing in the opposite direction. When he waved back, his phone was in his hand, as if he was talking while riding.
5. For you dog lovers, I saw a rider on a large Harley with his dog restrained in a box on the back. If his bike went down, the dog would likely be killed.
I'll admit that I did a couple of stupid things on a bike:
1. When I was 17, I took a 1974 Honda CB450 on a highway at 100MPH. I could have hit a rock or a log and crashed badly. Never again!
2. Around the same time, I rode home from a friends house and took a beer to go, and drank it while riding. After getting bounced around, I threw up 5 miles later. Never again!

Re: Not what I would do
I did a few stupid things as well but somehow am still alive. When I was 17 was supposed to be camping but friends and I rode our bikes all night long. There was no curfew back then so the cops never stopped us. I was stupid enough to take my Yamaha 180 and jump some railroad tracks on a back road. I was doing probably 60 when I did and as I jumped it looked up to my right and a train was about to cross the tracks. I was probably only a second ahead of him and beat him. I stopped and turned around since my friends were behind me. All I could see is the train cars passing. They had seen the train and stopped. My heart was in my throat so when they finally got across I told them I was going back to the camp and no more riding for me. My brother nearly got killed a few years later when a car hit him in an intersection when he was riding the same Yamaha. The bike hit the car at 45 mph and exploded on impact. He nearly died that day and stopped my riding for a number of years after.
Back when I had the ZRX1100 I found I often was riding too fast. I was challenged one day by a Toyota on Hwy 90 going to New Iberia. I found myself doing 115 mph before he passed me. I decided then and there that this was just total stupidity on my part. That is the fastest I ever rode a bike and it was the last.
