Distracted driving

Post by Highway Rider »

I was reading a forum where they were talking about distracted drivers. It just amazes me how often do you hear about a motorcyclist turning left in front of another motorcyclist. It either doesn't happen, or not vary often. So when the driver of a cager says they didn't see them, means they just weren't paying attention, or lack of patients, or distracted driving. Distracted driving can be in many forms, but the main culprit is texting while driving. Cell phone usage is an issue but when it comes to talking on one when doing so is no different then talking to someone on a CB. Remember the days when this was the main source of communication on the open road and truck drivers have not been band from using them. They are still in use today with no restrictions that I'm aware of. So for someone to say they didn't see them is trying to put blame on someone or something else. In my opinion. So think about this, how often does a motorcyclist run into, turn in front of, or run over another motorcyclist, unless they are screwing around then those things happen. :hmm:

You are right,Jim,I see way too many people texting and driving :tho: It seems to be getting worse, not better :cry2: We got a notice a couple years ago ,that if one of our CDL drivers
get caught using a hand held electronic device,he would get a $2500 fine, and we would get a $10,000 fine.
Why don't car/van drivers get a little discouragement also?
