Dunlop E3's

Post by forplay »

I understand that Dunlop is no longer making Dunlop E 3's for the Voyager XII. I like that tire and the tred pattern. Any suggestions for my next set. Have to replace in spring.
Thanks for your help and input.

Keith,

I found out thru research that the Dunlop Elite 3 Bias Touring Tire - Front - 130/90B16 is a direct replacement for the Dunlop MT90B-16 E3 which are no longer available. I ordered and received the rear Dunlop Elite 3 MV85B-15 from Amazon with no proplem. They are readily available.

I was just at the bike show in Cleveland. I spoke with the Dunlop factory rep and they now have E4's for VOYAGER XII. Sizes are 150/90B15 for the rear and 130/90B16 for the front. I feel this is great news. Will be getting a set come spring.

I don't like the idea of the center groove on the front E4. I had a tire once with a center groove and it followed the grooves on the road terribly. On bridges and roads that are being worked were they grind the top surface of the road the bike is almost uncontrollable. No thanks on the E4,s for me.

Those are both rear tires in the link. This link shows the front tire. The front E4 tire has a center groove. I'll stick with the E3's

Scroll down. You will see pics of front and back tire. 3 pics each. When at tire scroll sideways to see pics.

If you look at that link to the e4 page they do not list 150/90B15 as an available size.

It is a bit confusing. If you search for the Voyager 12 it shows a rear as 150/80-15 but if you look at the chart on the E4 page the only 15 is a 170.
