ACF 50 Anti Corrosion Product

Post by Mr Jensee »

I just viewed some British videos on You Tube and decided to order some of this product. ACF 50 is what it is called. Not really expensive and Amazon offered free shipping so I spent about $36 on it. It is supposed to help stop corrosion on your motorcycle. Developed for the aircraft industry to protect the components of planes. It is supposed to bond with the metal and protect what you spray it on for up to 18 months. I have a lot of corrosion issues with my Voyager. I plan to repaint the engine parts that are visible, use 1000 grit sand paper to get the corrosion off my aluminum parts then spray everything including the plastics with it. It is even recommended for spraying on your engine. Just don't spray it on things like your seat, hand grips and foot pegs and probably NOT your windshield. I will try to document how well this works. I really need something to combat the weather conditions, mostly the high humidity we have in Louisiana in the summer time. If anyone has used this product feel free to chime in. I am anxious to see how well this works.

Cushman unless you can put your car on a lift and expose the under carriage, And have it steam cleaned first I don't think ACF 50 will work for your car. However if you are experiencing rust and corrosion of the aluminum on your bike like I am you would be in luck. Watch the film on You Tube. Just do a search for ACF 50 and they will come up. Cheers!

ACF 50 works very well. Most people I know in the UK that use it, puts it on at the start of winter. Then leave it on until spring.
The bike looks a mess with all the road muck stuck to it, but once you wash it off. No corrosion. Not even on polished wheels.
One of the big problems we have here is that the government put rock salt on the roads in winter in case of ice & that causes big corrosion problems.

Biker Max I posted a reply to your rust post without first reading this reply. Right now it is snowing outside here in Louisiana 25 miles from the gulf coast. This is insane and we don't normally ever have the need to salt roads. i am not getting the bike out till I see at least 55 degrees on the thermometer. I am anxious to see how the ACF 50 works because fighting rust and corrosion here is a matter of the normally high humidity we have.

The product arrived. Have spent too much time working on Charlie's bike to get around to cleaning and painting my own Voyager. THEN I can spray it all down with the ACF 50.

Today I cleaned up rusted areas on the Charlie bike and used the ACF 50 on those areas. I have to say I am impressed. Places that had rust and corrosion are now rust free. It is truly amazing stuff. I followed the directions, spraying it on and letting it set for 15 min. then came back with a clean cloth. I have to say that I used CLR and and a stainless steel pad on the heavily rusted areas first. Anxious now to use it on my bike. Hopefully that can happen tomorrow or Thursday, which should be warm days.
