Trunk tricks?

Post by Thud300 »

Has anyone figured out a way to install a lift strut on the trunk lid? I think that would be a neat accessory to have.

Also, any alternative uses for the makeup mirror that has no mirror? (At least mine doesn't)

Not to put Gene down, I never would but I replaced my mirror for $5 at a glass shop. Looks as good as new.'

I'm sure Gene is not offended, but, I have bought about 10 or more of his polished stainless steel replacements to repair mirrors that pass by me when Geno Shields and I repair bikes on the fly. The one thing about Gene's is they snap right into the existing mirror housing, and,..... and, they will never break, again.

Just a thought.

I removed the mirror itself and use the plastic as an arm. What I do is put all of my different gloves in that small open pocket behind the mirror on the inside of the trunk lid, and the mirror plastic and arm hold them in place.

That way I'm not looking for them in the saddlebags nor are they spewed all about the trunk.
