Hello folks
Hi everyone and thanks for letting me join the forum. Im after some advice if possible. My wife runs a Voyager 1200 trike and recently it has developed a rattling noise from the final drive box area, the unit that sits on the left side of the engine. Its worse in 3rd 4th 5th gear and still rattles when i switch off the motor and coast along in neutral. If i give the bike some throttle the vibration and sounds disappear. I have just replaced the uj on the propshaft so its not that. If i take the spider cover off the unit to expose the large nut and i turn it it does feel 'notchy'. Am i in the right area? Any advice would be grateful. Many thanks.

Re: Hello folks
DON'T KNOW ABOUT 1200 ISSUES, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A 1200 TRIKE. Can you post one?

Re: Hello folks
Not following your statement. The only trike conversion that I know of is like adding left and right tires to the rear end there for having 3 wheels on the rear end. Inn this case all the drive components are the same as a regular 1200. What you are stating sounds different. Can you post some pictures as attachments in a post.

Re: Hello folks
That is the trike conversion Highway Rider spoke of. It is a standard Voyager with only the extra wheels involved. Depending on the model year the U joints could be wearing out or you could be having a problem with the drive unit at the rear wheel. Either way that left swing arm and drive unit is going to have to come out to be inspected. Replacement components may be hard to find OEM but lots of people are parting unit components on Ebay.

Re: Hello folks
I've never seen one of those, that is a good looking rig! Is that 3 wheels? (1 front, 2 rear) ?
Years ago, I had a bolt on kit (called a Voyager) that added 2 rear wheels, but kept the original motorcycle rear wheel, which meant that you actually had 4 wheels on the ground. I sold that, and added the Champion trike kit I have now, it handles a lot better.
