I apologize; This is directed to Shiesman's post about missing lever. not Crankys..

The flat bar is replacing the missing round lever for putting down the first stage of center stand. It is fastened to the small
flat with rounded corner tabs at bottom of center stand on each leg. drill hole in each tab and corresponding holes in flat bar, either thread holes or use a bolt & nut thru them. Or if you had access to a welder, you could just tack weld the bar to the tabs. The bar does not get any pressure on it so it does not need major work to fasten it to the center stand.

I didn’t think about putting some stainless steel threaded bar on the set lower part of the center stand but I’m worried about drilling more holes than making the whole thing weaker
Is there a fix for making this not collapse forward with Rocking the bike too much? Like maybe some collapsible steel cable to the frame?
I like to make my bikes on the center stand when I park them in park right in the center stand and it keeps the kids are knocking them over or the bike bike falling down on the Melted tarry Road. This is such a fat bike anyway with all the big crash bars and the rear bags
I’ve never had a center stand fail like this before

No. Lol. I was just thinking of a more sturdy lower side kick bar to replace the one that broke off and fell on the road. I think all bikes should have the 2stage center stand but I wished it was made better to support weight on a hill or uneven surface. I noticed a new lower piece on eBay that seems to have another metal cover at the joint. This seems to be an upgrade.

VanVoyager, yes, the XII has a two stage C-stand. The first stage, on mine, barely makes contact with the ground. I often have to put my foot behind it, to push it back in position, as the bike can move a bit when I step on the 2nd stage, to lift it up. I sometimes need to push it back down all the way, and then step on the 2nd stage arm again, to get it up.

doug of so fla, THANK YOU! i had my mechanic weld a tube onto mine, a few years ago... It broke off two years later. I only use the C-stand in the Winter storage months, and when working on the bike. But it is really helpful, and appreciated when I need it. Haven't been able to use it much since it broke off. I can't weld, and my mechanic doesn't seem to be great at it, either, so your solution is perfect! Cheers!

Van Voyager wrote:Just curious: is the 1200's C stand a 2 stage unit like the 1300's? I find the 1300 stand can be a bit finicky to get the first stage to deploy correctly but the second stage is a breeze - definitely easier than the center stands of some other smaller bikes.
Yes the XII-1200 does have a two stage center stand, search YouTube there are a few videos on how to use the c-stand and it really isn't too bad (typically) unless you are low on air in either the tire or rear shocks.
