trunk plug

Post by Nails »

Does anyone happen to have a spare electrical plug that normally hooks to the trunk, like maybe from a wrecked trunk? I'm looking into fabbing a rack instead of the trunk, and I want to plug in lights.

Sorry I'm not familiar with the connector you're looking for but these guys have helped me with plenty of 80's Japanese connectors: http://vintageconnections.com/

Thanks, will check.
I'm looking for the plug that you'd plug in when putting the trunk back on. The trunk side, not the bike side.

There is no stock trunk plug. If you add lights you will have to tap into the tail lights

He is talking about the plug under trunk that connects trunk brake lights.

Why would it have an electrical connector if nothing electrical?

It's a 1200, and I want to hook lights to a rack that will replace the trunk.

It's a 4-pin spade connector with about 3mm spades (can't get in there to measure it right). Looking on http://vintageconnections.com/Products/Connectors, http://vintageconnections.com/Products/Detail/61 looks mighty close. $6.25 with shipping. Vamos a ver.

http://vintageconnections.com/Products/Detail/67 evidently is the same thing without the latch.

Did you talk to Carl Leo? I would be surprised if he didn't have one. His phone number is listed in the classifieds: https://www.amervoyassoc.org/osclass/pa ... parts_i683

That does indeed appear to be the correct plug. I haven't inserted the wire connectors yet, but the plastic bits fit perfectly.
