Markland Backrest Repair

Post by ffltstn »

I have a Markland backrest that is loose on the mount. I am curious if anyone has knowledge of how the pad is connected to the support.
Have you had one apart? 'm hoping there are some kind of stud and nut inside. Before I take the bottom seam apart to see I thought I'd ask here.

Take the locknut and bolt out and the bracket is attached with Phillips screws to the backrest.

Be great if it was that easy. I looked to do that first. The studs are either pressed in or welded. They are smooth, no screw head.
That's why I was hoping they had nuts on the inside.
