Post by razorback13 »

Ok was riding the bike this morning going around a corner with a small grove in it at 45-50 mph . The front end went into a wobble and I mean death wobble . I couldn't control it shook so bad it snapped one of the antennas off . Super lucky didn't go down been riding over 40 years never experienced anything like this very scary !

Razor what have you done to the bike to address the problem? The first thing you need to remember is when the wobble happens get off the gas. As the bike slows the wobble should stop. Check things like tires, proper inflation and good quality. tighten the steering head bearings. Check the frame for any loose bolts. I hope you find it.

.. when a "death wobble" starts... lay down on the gas tank,
changing the scoot geometry will change the balance and
stop it.... BTDT

good morning,
had a airhead guru once give me the cure for bmw death wobble.
buy a good torque wrench, loosen the rear shocks (not with the
torque wrench)with the bolts and nuts loose sit up and down on
the seat to compress rear shocks.get off the bike and torque
the nuts/bolts in stages.if its 70 ft lbs start at 25 ft lbs then
go to 40 ft lbs.(going from side to side, dont do one side at a
time)till you get to 70 lbs (whatever the torque number is i'm
making up the figures)top bolts, bottom bolts.try that worked
on my bmw.
