I think your best bet is to get on Ebay and search. They are rare around here.

Re: Yamaha Venture ?
Do your homework by searching for related forums. The 90's models had transmission issues wherein they lost 2nd gear, and it was expensive to repair. Do as much research as you can, before you buy any model of bike, or car. That way you can make an educated decision, before you buy. Cheers!

Basically only the 83 and 84s had trouble with 2nd gear. I owned 9 of them over 6 years.

Re: Yamaha Venture ?
Hmmm, not sure if 9 of them over 6 years is an endorsement or a warning.
I've had friends who've owned them and really liked them. I considered buying one when I was shopping for a voyager but discovered they are indeed rare, which made me a bit apprehensive about parts availability.

Re: Yamaha Venture ?
I know wht you mean. I only kept buying them to get more parts and stuff. People used to say I drove truck so that I could find all the Yamaha dealers with old stock so that I could find parts that were no longer in stock. Which I never denied. Finally decided to get a newer bike and ended up with my first Voyager , a 2001. That one is in my barn now with 253,000 showing, but still nice looking. Other parts started wearing out....swingarm bushings, bearings u-joint and such. I do still miss having that much power.
