Dear Forum,
I need a little help here. When I push the starter button on my 2000 Voyager 1200 all I hear is spinning.
It has been happening intermittently for some time, steadily getting worse and more frequent. The last time the bike started the starter spun for over 30 seconds before it finally engaged. Now all it does is spin.
After removing the starter the gear will turn, as viewed from the left side, freely in a clockwise direction. The gear will not turn in a counter clockwise direction.
This is exactly opposite of what the manual says the starter clutch should work.
Has the starter clutch failed ?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Colin Compton

The one you need to be talking to , since you live in Georgia , would be Carl Leo. He may still take in some work and be able to help you.

I've sent Carl a couple of emails. I even text him and he didn't answer. I hear he was selling off his stock of Voyager parts. I hope he isn't retiring on us.
