The bike charges great -- see that "voltmeter" thread. The new battery seems fine. Either a bad battery or (more likely) I killed it with a bad charger.
I'm so sure, I bought the same battery again. (Thus proving you're WRONG -- I really am an idiot.)

Now now dont be so hard on yourself. Just because you do the same thing over and over and expect a different result......Nails wrote:The bike charges great -- see that "voltmeter" thread. The new battery seems fine. Either a bad battery or (more likely) I killed it with a bad charger.

Re: Deka ETX-18L battery
Well, this time I'll avoid killing the battery with excessive compression testing, a stuck starter solenoid, and then an abused/abusive charger.
I said I'd buy one again, but I was thinking years not months. These batteries aren't exactly resilient.
I'd have to recommend patience with your charger. My old battery won't charge more than 75% (according to the new charger); and it won't hold that for more than a week. I think this is from charging too hot.
