Fader

Post by Hadyn »

if I have the fader all the way to the front loud and I can hear it if I put it in the middle so my wife can hear the back speakers I can't hear the front very well because it lowers the front volume is that usual.
Thanks

The fader is just a potentiometer and can over time begin showing signs of wear. Are you familiar with the AVC (automatic volume control) on the radio controls? I have found you can set the volume higher when you are going down a highway and give the fader more to work with. Otherwise you may have to order and replace the fader.

I think the short answer should be YES. With the bike parked & not running, turn the fader to the front speakers only, set the volume. Then turn the fader to the rear speakers. The volume should sound the same. Next, turn the fader to the middle. This cuts the power 50% that was going to the rear and gives 50% to the front. Bottom line, if you want to run 4 speakers instead of 2, the main radio volume will need to be turned up.

BTW if you need to replace the fader known by Kawasaki as a controller, there are a number of them on Ebay right now. I just purchased one for $15 shipped.

Basic radio setup features. I changed my speakers to the Polk DB521, made an amazing difference on the sound. Factory radio, I added the rear speakers and put in the polks. The sensitivity is 93Db on that model, sound great for a 5.25 speaker.
