I am needing to replace my battery in my 98 Voyager Xii and was wondering what battery to purchase. My main concern is that the sealed batteries do not have a place for the sensor that monitors the battery level which brings me to my question. Can the sensor just be unplugged or do you need to do something with it to keep the battery light from coming on?
Any suggestions for replacement batteries?
Thanks,
Brad

Re: Battery Replacement
Thanks! I figured there was a workaround to these motorcycles to use the AGM batteries.Bulrid8 wrote:Just wire it to + post on battery. That will keep light off.

Re: Battery Replacement
I have a post here about a battery monitor that uses a small LED -- different colors tell battery conditions. It was small enough to stick in the dash behind the BATT indicator. I mean, I replaced the old fluid level light with a real battery monitor, at the same place in the dash. Works great with AGM battery.
PITA to get into the dash. But while you're there, replace all the lights with LEDs.

Sounds like a nice addition Nails! Do you have any links to where I could buy this?Nails wrote:I have a post here about a battery monitor that uses a small LED -- different colors tell battery conditions. Re: Battery Replacement
I've used two different AGM brands, each seems about the same: Duracell, and an unknown/un-remembered brand. I still believe it is worthwhile to connect an AGM to a Battery Tender (Jr. model is fine; upgraded last year to the regular, as my Jr. fell victim to my car's tire...). Cheers!
