most annoying thing about working on XII
I'd have to nominate the fake tank screws -- have to find a magnet to get them out.

Yeah they can be a nuisance to get out so I put one of those small round rare earth magnets on the shaft of my #3 Philips screwdriver and they come right out.

I've taken off that fake tank cover so many times all I have to do is ask them and they fall out in my hands.

Re: most annoying thing about working on XII
2nd time pulling them they got dropped into a pocket and they're still there. That was about 9 years ago and like Cranky said, that faux tank has never fallen up. The twist locks hold it in place and it's so much easier when I need to access under there.cranky wrote:.. didn't take me long to find out the cover won't fall up and I tossed'um

It's a lot easier if the reed valve stuff somehow goes missing.

Re: most annoying thing about working on XII
On the Canadian models there were no reed valves/vacuum switch/hoses. Just a blanking plate where each reed valve would have been on the cylinder head covers. Sure does get rid of a lot of plumbing.

Re: most annoying thing about working on XII
Somehow ... my bike got a blanking plate too. Pretty sure it used to be a piece of aluminum flatbar -- just guessing, tho. And somebody plugged the hole in the airbox.
Some PO, I reckon.
