Fairing Plastic- Repair Needed

Just got a 2000 12 and found 3 fairing screw locations to be broken. They'd been glued before. I'd like to know what type of plastic is the fairing and what glue has been found to work the best.

All the body plastic parts on the Voyager XII are constructed of ABS plastic. You can find ABS glue at a plumbing supply house. Good luck. Several of the screw holes are busted out on my fairing lowers, and on the upper fairing, where they attach to it, from flex stress. Something is out of line, and I am unable to figure out what it is.

I tried re-gluing them with ABS Glue (ABS plastic suspended in a solvent: when the solvent evaporates, the ABS is left behind, solid). The glue worked, but it did not last long as the stress was still present -- it broke again, in the identical manner, and location.

Solution: I use Zip-ties to hold the lowers in place. There is one screw, I think, which is still in place. The other two holes are held in position with nylon Zip-ties. They work wonderfully, without putting the stress into the remainder of the lowers -- they have not broken further in the nine years that I've done this. I use black Zip-ties, which are only noticeable if you look for them, up close. I pull them tight, and then I cut off the remainder of the tie, snug against the lock, so they are very difficult to spot, visually.

When I need to remove the lowers, I use a pair of wire side-cutters to remove the Zip-ties (cheap, so I don't mind replacing them, as needed). I've put over 8,000 miles on the bike, with the lowers being held in place with Zip-ties: no issues yet. It sounds terrible, but it works just fine, and no one is the wiser, except me. I carry spare Zip-ties in the bike, just in case, but I've never had one break on me, yet. Cheers!

On my gsxr i had a couple tabs break on the tank cover and tried an Astro 7600 Hot Staple Gun (easy to find on amazon). There are a few different versions of this but the staples melt into the fairing and provide extra strength. I did it from the back side and clipped the extra length. This was a high stress point so I used a bit of epoxy in the area too. It held until I sold the bike.
Definitely going to use this on any similar repairs. Just my .02

So far I've got the J-B weld for ABS and some acetone to clean with after I grind off the chunks of glue from the last effort that didn't work. Next step, if needed, will probably be the zips.

On the GS1100GK I had before the VXII,I had stress failures on the fairing .I did what I had to in order to neutralize the stress by bending mounting brackets or enlarging fairing holes.To find where the stress was, I looked for misalignment of mounting and fairing holes,and corrected them.
After I got the holes lined up I was able to quit gluing the fairing back together!

The lower holes on the lower fairing that screw fast to the crash bars that brake, I have a fix for them .
It is a insert and a stainless steel screw no glue just bolt on.
