Re: Summersville AVA RALLY
Last night Susie had to head down to Detroit to be with her daughter who in in the hospital. Some of you know I was unsure whether we would be able to attend this year if only because of the possibility of something like this happening. Please keep us informed here of the goings on.

Re: Summersville AVA RALLY
Good to hear Loren, Marie , myself and the kids got in today after a bit of sightseein yesterday ; and a very nice evening in Hancock MD and the best crabcake dinner ever >>>> as usual a great soft icecream desert...
I came out smelling like a rose on this trip with a hose opening up a few miles away from the Motel 8 . ( a woppin 12.98 cost ) And a great day today , great weather clear sky's , no highway accidents within my travels to slow things down. Got home , dove in the pool and as we got out to do burgers the storm clouds rolled in and Marie didn't have to water her many garden plants . With the cruse set all day today on the inter-state I shown a solid 50.0 mile per gal. Great bike and I can't wait to get the -100,000 mile - patch sown onto the vest or leather jacket...It was a great rally all in all with great food and service and many TWISTIES to keep a nice round edge on the tyre's ... Making plans and savings toward Main Event Loggings for next year , Missed seeing alot of people that stayed in different locations . Hotel for me next year, this years motel experience dang near took out many a tire, I picked many a wood screw off the pavement.
Pics will be on the facebook AVA page or Marie's home page.

Re: Summersville AVA RALLY
Hi,Gene,we only got 48.6 miles per gallon
But,we were riding two up,which probably accounts for the difference.

Re: Summersville AVA RALLY
Neal, the rally was nice. Lots of great roads and amazing sights and a few very strange head scratching sights that remindes me of thr movie Deliverance!
Sorry you ans Susie couldn't make it. Hoping and praying that her daughter's situation has the best outcome.

Re: Summersville AVA RALLY
Deb an I got home around 10:00 Saturday night. We along with Kevin and Holly headed over to Virginia and spent Friday night at the Woodberry Inn now under new ownership and renamed the Antler Inn. We rode the Blue Ridge Parkway to the end on our way to Pennsylvania. We started at 8:00 that morning so we had a long day. We had an excellent time in Summersville and after helping set up on Sunday I can really appreciate how much effort is put forth to pull off an event like this. We thank the entire board for a job well done!

I got my bike safely to Carl’s. Trying to get home now on flights. 2 flights cancelled today for me due to mechanical and weather. My bad luck continues. Sorry more people didn’t stay at the rally hotel. Would have liked to visit and chat. I don’t understand that.

Pam and I got home Saturday mid-morning. Was great to see everyone again (even on 4 wheels). Expedition waited until we got home to have front brake issues. Yay for that.
Thanks to the board for a great rally!

Re: Summersville AVA RALLY
Took me three days to get home flying from Florida but finally made it home. 2 cancellations a rent a car to drive to another airport just to find out that flight cancelled then hotel room and finally found a plane that could get to Chicago. Broke airplanes and weather cancellations. Rained everyday in June with thunderstorms.

Re: Summersville AVA RALLY
With another rally in the books, it is good to hear that so many of you had a great time. Summersville was a fabulous place to hold a rally. The scenery was terrific and the roads a bikers dream. Other then the rain Monday night the weather could not have been any better.
We got home at about 9 pm on Friday night rather an uneventful drive home.

Re: Summersville AVA RALLY
Hello from NJ, We are sorry to say we stayed at a motel instead of the Hotel. WE will never do that again, what we saved was not worth missing the Hotel fun and being with everyone there. Not to mention the lack of a pool, TV , and other amenities for the wife.VoyKimmer wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 12:31 am I got my bike safely to Carl’s. ( happy wife , happy life ) And the unqualified up-keep staff left many a wood screw in the rear of the building. I did miss our sharing stories and chit-chats. So sorry you had so many issues on this vacation. Gene and Marie

Re: Summersville AVA RALLY
I agree with with everyone, it was a great Rally. Chris and Deb thanks for all the help on Sunday.
Trisha and I got home on Saturday morning. Friday we rode those wonderful back roads to Virgina. Back roads are great, but they do eat up time.
