This (https://www.amervoyassoc.org/forum/view ... 15&t=11277) describes a bunch of work I did on my bike a while back, mostly just to get it usable. This new post is work since then, getting my bike fit for a long ride. .
- Finished LED conversion (headlight, dash, running lights). Disabled the Reserve Lighting Unit.
- Replaced battery (gel). Had to rebuild the battery tray, which was corroded from the old battery anyway.
- Replaced starter and brake relays (corroded to hell and gone).
- Rebuilt the forks (Progressives, bushings, seals). Got rid of all the front air suspension crap (hose clamp and gasket over air holes in the fork tubes). I'll probably re-open these holes and hook up the collar again, just to rig an air bleed-off valve.
- SS brake/clutch lines, Galfer pads (thanks, Don).
- Fixed the cruise control (a couple times ) and disabled the transmission OT switch (https://www.amervoyassoc.org/forum/view ... =3&t=11577).
- Lubricated the rear brake switch (brake lights were sticking on).
- Torqued fairing subframe (very loose -- thanks to whoever recently recommended that).
- Hooked up a dash light to indicate when the fan is on.
- Installed a battery monitor on the dash, behind the orphaned BATT light (https://www.amervoyassoc.org/forum/view ... 15&t=11850).
- New front fender inserts (thanks Gene).
- Replaced the switch for the low-fuel light (sourced as a Mustang part that I soldered in place of the old one -- a cheap fix (https://www.amervoyassoc.org/forum/view ... 15&t=11616).
- Repaired the headlight adjuster (https://www.amervoyassoc.org/forum/view ... 15&t=11638).
- Procured a shorty windshield, c/o Mr. Jensee.
- Torqued the swingarm (full maintenance on final drive next year).
- Installed TPMS on the dash.
- Welded the exhaust (repaired bashes under engine).
- Replaced oil pan gasket (lots of clean-up).
- Fixed a stuck piston ring (https://www.amervoyassoc.org/forum/view ... 15&t=11581).
- Dumped floorboards in favor of footpegs (https://www.amervoyassoc.org/forum/view ... 15&t=11550).
- Took off the trunk and rear seat, made a backrest and rack, and fitted an aluminum suitcase to the rack (https://www.amervoyassoc.org/forum/view ... 15&t=12076).
- Got an M66 back tire to match the front.
- Installed Quiet Ride ear muffs in my helmet. This was a total bust -- the inserts were louder than without them. (I've busted the URL limit, but you can find it with this: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=11708)
