Radiator removal

Hi. Have the lower fairings off on both sides, and found my coolant leak which turned out to be a loose clamp. Anyway, I already have most new hoses and o-rings on order, as I was expecting that. My question is , how hard is it to take out the rad? I see two bolts either side at the top, and two more lower down on the sides (one each side), and I would have to disconnect the hoses. Is there anything I might run into beyond that and or is it difficult to put back together once I'm into it?

Not a bad job, with the right tools and IF whomever installed the hose clamps , done so in such a way that you can get to them without removing too many things.... Watch out,when installing the top rad hose. too far on either end will kink it. Be aware and look for it to happen...

Yes I have a manual for the bike. Spent the afternoon with her..was kind of fun pulling stuff apart. Not so fun when my wife came home and found me cleaning and waxing the plastic on the coffee table. OOPS! Anyway, will watch out for the kinky hose. Just seems to make sense seeing how I'm in there already. Thanks.

Dare I assume you are going to change the 4 o-rings between the block and the water manifold in the front of the engine
If not, you will have an excellent opportunity to do it now

Yes. That was on my list if I can get the rad off without screwing something up. There seems to be enough evidence on here that changing them is a good idea. One question. Are there any connectors for the temp sensor thing or do I detach it from the bottom of the rad ? it looks like its screwed into there, and if so is there an o-ring in there too? Looks pretty straight forward, and seeing as how its snowing here thismorning in sunny Ontario Canada I might as well go for it.

Yes there is a bullet connector right down at the fan switch but you don't have to unplug this to remove the radiator. Just unplug the 3 wire Black plastic connector going to the fan itself, said connector is at the LH top area of the radiator. Wire colours are: Black/Yellow; Blue; and Yellow.
Yes there is an o-ring between the fan switch and the radiator mount.
