I don't think there is a reverse available for it.

Asphalt, the final frontier; these are the treks of the Kawasaki Voyager; its continuing mission to explore strange new roads, to seek out new sites, new bed & breakfasts, to boldly ride where no one has ridden before.

The Harley-Davidson factory tricycle uses an electric motor operated backup gear. I have no other details nor knowledge, but may be there is some shop out there who can retrofit your Voyager with something similar.

It's not really a problem to get reverse gear - costs a bit over $1000 though - (just sell yours and buy a similar condition Goldwing with reverse...)

maybe $2000 more...

But then you'd have a Goldwing and not a VII. To me, the difference between a Goldwing and a VXII is like the difference between a Grand Marquis and a Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. They are the same car, with about the same comfort level, but vastly different in the speed and handling departments.
