Loose mirrors
My 94 voyagers mirrors got loose as they do and everytime I hit a bad bump they would move. Very distracting and we know that's not good. I saw the tip to drill hole in them to reach the adjustment nut . I was ready to do that when I remembered a trick we use to do to the ball and socket old rearview mirror in our cars. I ground up some sand and mixed it with a little vaseline, took off my mirrors and forced some of the sand mixture into the ball and socket of the mirror while moving it from side to side, until it felt stiffer. Put them back on the bike adjusted them and wiped off any excess Vaseline. It been over a month and the mirrors haven't moved. Might be worth trying before you drill hole in your mirrors.

Re: Loose mirrors
What is the long-term effect? Does it cause faster wear to the joint?

Re: Loose mirrors
When my mirrors got loose on my '99,I took a knife, and very carefully, using plenty of time, pried the lens cover off the back.
Doing this gives access to the tightening nut inside.
I tightened the nut to almost coil binding the spring.I then glued the lens cover back it place using glue about 1/2 " every 1 1/2 inches apart around the cover.
I can adjust my mirrors and they stay.

Re: Loose mirrors
I did the same guys, carefully removing the bezel , tighten the nut and glue back together with abs glue.

Re: Loose mirrors
I tried both techniques: remove the mirrors, cut hole into back to access the nut. My mirrors are falling apart -- the plastic is old, brittle, and broken, on the mounts. Bought some aftermarket mirrors, but I need to cut some angled wood blocks, to offset them at a proper angle. They're on arms, so the will stick farther out from the fairing. Should work well enough, once I cut the blocks to shape. Will post if/when I ever git 'er done... Cheers!

Re: Loose mirrors
Was Just putting it out there ,I realize this is kinda a Mickey mouse fix with the sand Vaseline mix. But it is working very good so far and I put a lot of miles on. Mirrors have not moved and I can still adjust them if needed . Taking the mirror out to get to the adjuster does sound better than drilling a hole in them , but with my luck I would chip the mirror.
