Nice NJ back roads

Post by ekap1200 »

Hello from South Jersey, A nice 123 mile ride today without a jacket. Meeting Harry the Hat we rode the roads least traveled. I led the way today hoping to lead Harry on some back wood roads that He had not traveled. Difficult task and he is no stranger to the back roads, but I did find this road shown in the pic. That's right it is a road , looking like, just someones driveway. It twists and turns thru the Belplain state forest , up to the recreation area and lake. At one time back in the 60's it was the main drive to the lake. You could have just stopped your bike and sat there without a on-coming car for quite some time. Jersey leaves don't have much time to display nice color, they are green , then brown, then blown away. Mostly what we call scrub-oak. But its nice to ride thru the back roads, and the smell of pine trees clears the head. I am taking every opportunity to ride before the rain and/or cold wind of winter arrives.
