Re: OEM Accessories
Addendum to post:
As some of you know there are several of the accessories which have an "letter" suffix after the 3 digit section of the part number.
For example the original K53002-006 was the trombone slide, closed end style of the upper trunk trim rail and the K53002-006A was the later open 2 rail end style.
The same applied to the saddlebag upper trim rails as the later open end had the last 3 digit part number of 008A .
The driver floorboards had a revision or 2 as the latest incarnation had the peg style of toe and heel shifter and had the last 3 digits of -015B .
The caliper cover must have had a revision because the installation sheet in the Tech Center has the last 3 digits of 020A .
The fork leg lights also had a revision or two as the latest part number was 022B . I can attest to one change that being the mounting bracket had a change as I have 2 styles of it.
And Lastly, the part number for the Black passenger armrests was 047A . I'm not sure what the change was here.
If anyone can comment on the above in greater detail than I have, and post details of the "A" revisions in the case of the B numbers, please do so in the interest of clarification of the differences.
Regards,
Dave

Re: OEM Accessories
One particular accessory which should have had an "A" or "B" suffix to denote an update but did not get an update as far as I can discern was the K 53002-033, Front Speaker Accents, Chrome.
When I tried to fit them on the black plastic '87 and later speaker covers, which have the metal mesh, the raised edge of the mesh required the accent cover to be carefully filed on all 4 sides in order to lay flat against the plastic. It wasn't much but it should not have been necessary.
Then one day I tried another un-modified accent cover on a 1986 speaker cover, which is just the molded plastic with plastic grill slats and no metal mesh raised above the line of the plastic framing, and lo and behold the accent cover fitted perfectly flat against the plastic speaker cover.
So far as I can find there wasn't any revised version of the accent cover which allowed for the larger dimensions of the later speaker covers which had the metal mesh.
I may be incorrect in this and perhaps a later, revised with the last 3 digits having an "A" or "B" suffix, part was introduced. If so and you can elaborate on the part number please do so.
