Heated grips

Hi guys and gals and others! I'm putting heated grips on Gertrude - just completed the heated seats yesterday - and I guess I should have asked (or grabbed a tape measure) before ordering them. Question: are our handlebars 7/8" or 1"?

Well. I bought the wrong grips. As best as I can tell they are 7/8".

The upper bars on a VXII are 7/8". Another commonality with early 'wings. AND... I recently found long heated grips for 'wings. 'least they looked long, like our stock grips.

I bought a set of the oxford heated grips for cruisers, didnt realize they were for 1" bars. Didnt fit. So i just ordered the same grips i have on my versys, oxford adventure grips. Heated. Id be curious to see the long ones you found.

I didn't pay much attention; didn't bookmark the page. It was on some Gold Wing site - maybe Wing Stuff? I've been discovering more and more commonalities between our bikes and early 'Wings. For instance, the unobtanium OEM CB antenna for the XVII is actually the GW 1100-1200 CB antenna, plentiful and $38 plus shipping. I don't know if 'Wings use the same extra long grips. If they are the same length, at some point I might order a set (if I can find them again). I'm not fond of the short grips - I am a large man with large hands. Let's see, what else? Oh, the Baker Air Wings. Can't find them for a VXII, but they still make them for the early 'Wings.
