While perusing the 1986 "Chassis Electrical" illustration at Partzilla I happened to notice there was a "Clamp-Hose" having the part # of 92037-1785 which only shows up for the 1986 model. All later year "Electrical Equipment" illustrations do not have this clamp shown.
This clamp is in addition to the one used for the battery vent tubing which has the part # 92037-1727 and as mentioned, only appears on the 1986 parts illustration.
So I was wondering if one of the 1986 model owners could enlighten me as to the function and location of this clamp as it may indeed appear elsewhere in another illustration heading for the later model years and perhaps I am just not seeing it.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

As Carl Leo explained to me, whilst the '86 and later VXIIs look the same, they are actually different bikes. There are quite a few differences between '86 and '87.

Re: 1986 only hose clamp?
Thank you GrandpaDenny for your reply.
I am aware of the numerous changes since the 1986 introduction of the Voyager XII beyond the simple change of colour from years to years.
Changes such as the addition of cruise control and rear speakers necessitating electrical harness changes. As well, the stronger thicker wall fork tubes were introduced in 1987 along with changed springs and compression cylinders. In 1990 the springs and compression cylinders changed again.
In late 1987 models and after that the igniter changed to the 1248 part # and a stronger generator, (starter), chain was installed.
The radiator cap changed in 1987 and again in 1992 when the water pump o-ring also changed.
In 1987 certain of the gear change shaft and springs changed and remained the same after that to the end of production, the exception being the Neutral lever spring which changed in 1992.
In 1987 there was a change in the rear wheel which lasted until 1994 whereupon a 3rd part # for the rear wheel was generated which remained until the end of production.
The rear brake caliper has had 2 minor changes since the original part.
The front wheel changed in 1990 and again in 1994.
In 1991the numerous clutch assembly changes began and so far I have logged 36 different part numbers and most of the changes lasted until the end of production, EXCEPT for the clutch housing which changed in 1992 and again in 1996, the clutch nut which didn't change until 1992 and then changed again in 1994. Even the outer engine cover has had 3 different part numbers with one of those part numbers being for the 1991 model only. I won't bore you with the remaining minor clutch changes.
The front brake master cylinder cap changed in 1992 due to the addition of a diaphragm plate being added.
And I'm sure there are other changes I have missed and that brings me to my original request: Could an owner of a 1986 model year enlighten me about the function and location of this apparent one year hose clamp as I would like to include it in my spreadsheet of changes over the production run.
Regards,
Dave
