New Tires, Different Bike
I'm blown away at how much better my XII feels after getting a good set of tires on. It completely changes the handling, and having a tire that can stand up to it leaning at low speeds means parking lot speeds feel solid. The bike takes almost no speed to stay up. I'm impressed at how much it feels like the center of gravity changed and is much lower. She's truly a joy to ride

Re: New Tires, Different Bike
Yes,Sidehopper, new tires do help handling,my E-4s are down to 2/32s and I hope, based on the 1/32 I wore off them on the 2915 mile ride to the rally,I might get 3000 miles more on them, then I will change them.
At that point I would have 20,000 on the rear, and 26,000 on the front, but my handling is getting worse as they ware.
I am thinking Commander IIIs,does anybody dissagree, since the E-4s are no longer available?

Re: New Tires, Different Bike
Mine is in the shop getting a pair of Commander III's put on. Had tread left on the rear, but I hate being without the bike, so one shop trip, instead of two. Had Commander II's on it. Looking forward to the III's! Cheers!

Shame they don't make the E4 for the rear of our bikes anymore. Mine just went bald, 22000 miles on it, roughly. Come payday she's going to the shop to get the new E4 put on (yep, found one! 2018 date, but that's OK, it'll only last me a year or so LOL)

Re: New Tires, Different Bike
Good morning everyone from Spain, it is my first post in the group, and, apart from saying hello to all the members, I wanted to tell you that I just installed some Avon Cobra Chrome replacing some Shinko hard as flint.
The bike has appreciated it in an incredible way, the ride comfort has improved light years, and the riding precision and the stability and grip are superb.
On the rear wheel I have mounted a 170 / 80-15, and I am extremely happy that I did.
For my taste they have turned out to be magnificent tires for Voyager

Wecome dr-makoki to the AVA family
As you may already know, there is a lot of friendly advise free for the asking from this family.
The VXII bike is a great bike to have,I have put over 78,000 miles on mine since I bought it 12 years ago with 22,000 on it,and continue to enjoy getting it on the road and adding to the miles
