Throttle cable 93 model

Post by grumpy72 »

I took the throttle cable handgrip thing apart on my 93. There are 2 cables. Do they do different things.when i turn the throttle it doesnt recoil when i let go.so are both broken or just one. They appear to travel a wellhidden tortuous path to the carbs. I dread changing them.plus several are on ebay.no way to tell if they are the right ones.are both cables the same. One listing says one is push one is pull.so complicated.the part numbers on BANDIT are different plus unavailable.

When you replace the cables, if you tape the lower end of the new one to the upper end of the old one and pull out the lower end of the old one, it will snake the new one right through.

If you have cruise control, one cable goes to the splitter box for it.

The key to putting them back on is not to have them tight where when the handle bars are turned from one side all the way to the other and it does not move the carbs. Their has to be a slight bit of play in the twist of the throttle grip where neither cable moves.
