Re: 150/90-15 tires
I just got Gertrude's new rear tire. It's a Shinko 777. On sale at Dennis Kirk and free FAST shipping - they shipped it minutes after I ordered it, and it got here two days later - five days earlier than promised. I hope it's not horrible LOL. I've had nothing but problems with this Elite 4, it's been squirrelly on turns, especially right-hand turns, and it's almost bald already after only 12000 miles. Even though there is lots of tread on the sides, it's scary as hell in the rain. This has definitely been A Bad Tire. That's weird, because the last Elite 4 was awesome, as was the Elite 3 before that. It's shocking how bad this tire has been in the wet.

Have you considered the "Dark Side" car tire? They are supposed to be great for wet traction and with as much as you ride last 25K+ miles thats a couple or 3 bike tires at 3x the price.GrandpaDenny wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 4:24 pm I just got Gertrude's new rear tire. Re: 150/90-15 tires
I always mount and balance my own tires (because it's faster than taking the wheels to my local shop dropping them off, then picking them up again later) but the last two I've installed (both Shinkos) haven't needed any balancing weights.Bonnie and Clyde wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 10:53 pm I figured this mount myself and no balance would trigger some response.

Re: 150/90-15 tires
Last October I went to several websites trying to find a matching set of tires of any brand. I bought a set of the Continental Conti Tour tires. When they came in one was 3 and the other was 3-1/2 years old, but they were clean tires. I contacted the website and they said that is what the distributor sends out, they are not able to find out the age of the tire. I contacted Continental and was told they warranty the tires 5 years from date of purchase as long as you keep your receipt. My 2 local motorcycle shops told me that they cannot find out what the age of the tires are before ordering either. Both of the shops said it is hard to find certain size tires also. So I will ride them out.

If I knew an appropriate size tire for my ZN, I'd consider dark siding it.Bonnie and Clyde wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 4:58 pm Have you considered the "Dark Side" car tire? Kronk no. I've seen a bike using a car tire and just watching it was scary. Proper tool for the proper job. You don't use a screwdriver to turn a nut, you don't put car tires on a motorcycle. If you want to run car tires, get a car. <grin>Bonnie and Clyde wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 4:58 pm Have you considered the "Dark Side" car tire?
