Unable to go to the rally

Post by cushman eagle »

We are having to cancel our plans to go to the rally because of a loss of three employees, who resigned :cry2: And with a lot of advertising,no replacements showed up[accept one who wanted to start at $120,000 per year] :hmm:
We were hoping to meet all of you again after seeing you in Springfield in 2021  ,but we do not have anyone to sub for me this year.
Ride safe as you travel ,and we hope to see you again.

I guess the days of hiring the neighbor's HS son for $5/hr are over in Ohio.

I also retired a few years ago, but I can't do anything I really want to do. I've got way too many chores postponed from years before I retired. :-(

When you retire, the first thing you want to do is chunk your job jar in the trash.

"What was he buying for a dollar?"

Maybe a loaf of bread and a pack of smokes....or a gallon of gas was 60 to 70 cents. But adjusted for inflation, fairly similar.

1978
- Fresh eggs (1 dozen): $0.79 ($3.15 in today’s dollars)
- White bread (1 pound): $0.36 ($1.44 in today’s dollars)
- Sliced bacon (1 pound): $1.79 ($7.15 in today’s dollars)
- Round steak (1 pound): $1.99 ($7.94 in today’s dollars)
- Potatoes (10 pounds): $1.40 ($5.59 in today’s dollars)
- Fresh grocery milk (1/2 gallon): $0.86 ($3.43 in today’s dollars)
