Clutch slip?

Clutch slip?
New member, new to me bike. If I'm in third or fourth gear and close the throttle, then hammer it around 3500 or 4000rpm, it seems like the revs go up a hair faster than the bike itself. I also cannot shift very fast. Is this normal, or indictive of a problem? I changed the oil with Rotella T4 the other day.

It sounds like you may have sludge in you clutch master cylinder. 
I recommend flushing the fluid,making sure both holes in the master cylinder are clean.
Make sure your fairing is covered with a plastic sheet,so when you spill brake fluid in it,you don't melt it.
You may also have broken spider springs in you clutch.
