Gosh darn it .... Did I buy yet another basket case ?............. Well, here you see where the latest bike purchase has morphed into !
Yeah, I have the stock airbox now , and after extensive testing .....I now am installing the dynojet stage 3 jet kit into this bike, just could not accept the 1980's "lean" existence ! WOW what a difference when ya set em up flowing some fuel ! also.....2 teeth UP on the countershaft sprocket, and DOWN 6 teeth on the rear sprocket will make this lil' 250 worthy of highway speeds ! I had er out on the expressway ,and realized , at 65 mph.....she was ALL DONE ! so I had to spend the money to correct this awful situation,
I am gonna still try to make it possible for Alisha to RIDE this bike ALL the way to the rally next June, cause the way it was set up from the factory, I wouldn't ride this bike any further than across town ! ....I know, It's a 250 ! :-? :-( ......................Tony :-D

Looks like you have another full project bike on your hands, but if I know you, it will be special and done right when it is completed. She will love it.

Tony,I checked out the specs on that 250,and found they got 33 HP out that little engine :woohoo: I am impressed,my 450 Suzuki was only 44 with almost twice the cc.Now I see why you said it will handle highway travel

 Hey Loren,

I went out in the workshop at 7 am labor day and put the 250 eliminator all back together , installing the dynajet kit and changing the gearing. what a pain in the ass having to unbolt the entire exhaust system, just to get the countershaft sprocket off that bike ! :-( the pipe was in the way of the cover,, also going up 2 teeth on the front sprocket was NEVER the design engineers intention as I had to "modify" the sprocket cover cause it bound up the chain from turning when installed ! also I got the stock "unmolested" airbox from ebay, and it is now on the bike and working perfectly as intended ! the intake boots on the Venturi side of the carbs, are VERY unique to that eliminator ,and I have not seen this style before, and they must play a role in the bike's optimum performance(or the engineers would not have put them there ! just to have some hack come along and tare it all out ! :-( .....anyway.....what a huge difference those mods did to the bike ! ! It has no tachometer,so I can't give you numbers but
that lil' 250 gets up and screams now ! I like it !

here is a look at the airbox intake boots that are quite unique to this bike, what a difference in performance, now that they are back in place ! I read somewhere that top speed was 87 MPH on this bike @ 11,000 rpm  but after going two up on the front sprocket ,and down six in the rear,,also having a six speed gearbox .... I know that it will now roll on down the highway all day long at a nice rpm, I took it out for a test ride, and could feel the difference right away, she went up to 55mph shifting into 4th gear easily now, I will take it out on the highway and see how she does soon, :-D

That airbox looks like it has velocity stacks built into it! :woohoo: Kawasaki must have wanted a rather high performance out of a 250 :hmm: If that runs that good, the ninja 500 must be pretty strong for an entry level cruiser. :corn:
