18 watt LED running lights

OK, got my lights mounted but now I have radio interference as was previously mentioned. any feedback welcome to help resolve this next small issue.

Interestingly they sent 2 lights with the cable coming out the same side for each light . No worries, just modified my wire run.

A standard automotive headlight is rated around 700 Lumens! Cheers!

I'm not sure where you got that information but a standard automotive headlight is raed at much more than 700 lumens. An H7 bulb is about 1400 lumens and an H4/9003 bulb like the Voyager XII uses has about 1000 on low beam and about 1600 on high beam.

Found the 700 Lumens rating on an Internet page, around 2-3 years ago, when I was researching LED's. I wanted to avoid putting anything brighter than the headlight (for legal purposes, as well as to avoid blinding oncoming traffic...). I may have quoted the wrong bulb type, perhaps a 9004/HB1: 700 Lumens on Low Beam? Not sure, really, as it has been a couple of years. Thanks for the information. Cheers!

I've been reading some of the customer reviews for these lights on Amazon, and quite a few complain of them filling up with water. Do any of you out there have similar comments after running in the rain?

Just got the LED lights from Amazon yesterday, and I should receive the light bar to mount them on today. What kind of switch did you guys use for these? I've been trying to decide between having a switch on the fairing, or just getting a plunger I can tuck away so I don't have to drill any holes in the 20+ year old plastic.

I plan on mounting them this week before I head to Daytona for Bike Week.

I try to avoid riding in rain, but on those occasions when I get stuck, this is something I'll have to keep an eye on. I saw that in the reviews, but it didn't concern me too much.

I also try to avoid riding in the rain, but sometimes........! I will probably take the plunge and buy these lights. I had lights on the bike before, so all the wiring, relay and switch are there. We'll see.

I'd recommend shopping around. LED's which are waterproof, are plentiful, in many different wattages. I bought a set of 3W lights, submersible in water. I've been running them for 2+ years now, in rain, with no issues. Mine are only for conspicuity, though, as they only light up a 6'-circle out 10' in front of the bike.

The idea that you must buy motorcycle-specific LED's is a myth. They are all vibration-proof as there is no filament to break. If you check e-Bay for 18W/10W/whateverW LED's, you will see many examples, many of which are water-proof, for a lot less money than those made specifically for M/C's. And they will work just fine, for many years to come (30,000-50,000 hour life). Cheers!

draw 3A, and I didn't know what I had on my new to me scoot, turns out they were 55W/110W per pair!!!
They were drawing 9.1A I SAVED 6.1A!!!! We need that kind'a savings on our scoots!!!
