Yes,Trikebldr, about the braking power,I would hope :please: :please: the car would have it's own brake to aid in the ability to stop. The front brake on the Cushman is just a suggestion, where the rear will easily skid the tire.

OK, it's been a long time now since we've seen this little bike's progress. I, for one, love these little "stampers" since I owned one many years ago and would like to see it restored and back on the road!
Soon?

So much of everything, thrown my way the last couple months has not allowed me much time for the stamp frame project ! I won't list all of the side ways directions that I have been forced to go..... from running the business , to other vehicles breaking ,to rental properties, to my multitude of home repairs/updates, and let's not forget that added bonus this time of year mowing grass/landscaping ! !
The ol' Honda is all clean and put in white primer, it will be painted after I return from the rally. Then it will just sit and wait till the boredom of winter sets in to be reassembled, You likely will not see it all done till after the first of 2017. I figure it sat in "uncle Bob's" garage for 30 years waiting for me to come rescue it ...it can wait a little longer :cry2: :gig: ...........................Tony :-D

Image

All of the stamp frame stuff is piled up in the way on the back wall work bench... there it will stay till I get at it......cause this time of year I use my spare time to go out RIDING as much as possible. :hpdc:

I dunno! Pretty slim list of excuses!! :gig: :gig:

Would just hate to see another family of varmints move into the frame again! :-O

I'm one to talk, huh? Got maybe a dozen smaller projects in the works right now. Talked to the chrome shop today about re-chroming the crash bars where I welded the sidecar mounts to them. About $225. Bike is coming apart tomorrow to have all the parts re-chromed and sandblasted for painting or powdercoating.

Reassembly on the stamp frame project has begun 1 :woohoo:

I ordered and received the new tires and tubes, and rim bands, I guess that is what gave me the push to get back at this project !
( don't forget,I thru a Eliminator 250 project in there over the summer) anyway.....I found a NOS ball bearings/races set on ebay and installed the front end back on the bike, then the swingarm and shocks were installed next. I figured I should put the center stand back on at this point ,before the rear wheel is in the way. next I mounted the two new tires(2.50-17 front,3.00-17 rear)(same as what was on the bike) on the rims ,and got to lookin at em and noticed that the rear tire was a bit over 2" taller than the front, didn't think much of it at the time, but that's where the trouble started ! the new rear tire will not fit in between the inner width of the centerstand ! :dm: , I called the vendor to find out about the tire height and what could be done . long story short....the 3.00-17 will be sent back ,and the little sweety will go down the road with a 2.50-17 on the rear, same as the front. New tire will be here next week, and then I will get that issue solved. I went and found the old Knobby tire and had a look at it to make some sort of comparison. My son Brad walked up and said LOOK  , someone took a saw to the old tire ,shaving down both sides ! I could not do that to this new tire, and it would not have worked anyway with the overall height of the new tire....looks like "uncle Bob " found out something about this bike decades ago ....that I found out today ! :gig:
more later......................................Tony :-D

:gig: That's too funny there Loren...... I will ask Pam if that's O K with her.... she has been showing a lot of interest in this bike here lately, and I'm thinking she just may lay claim to this one ! That would be fine with me,.....if she does learn to ride, she will grow tired of the little 65cc bike ,and move up to the 250 ?

Those are being priced rather temptingly,[is that a word]aren't they? :thk: They would probably be more ridable than a Cushman, with better suspension and a better transmission. The two speed is a little lacking. :cry2:

Hello Tony from Toledo , that bike is coming along nicely. It takes me back to the 60's riding a red one ( 1965 ) at least 50miles a day after school , and all day on the weekends. It lasted about 2 years until I threw a rod out the bottom of the case. It got me started into electronics study as I just had to know what a selenium rectifier was , how it worked and what it was make out of... After that my father purchased a 125 yamaha with a starter/generator for me . Those two bikes got me hooked on wiring.. And the knowledge I gained at such a young age helped me in my career working on anything that rolled down the roads. Its great to see this blast from the past come back to life, and hope to see it running soon.

You could build a rack on the back of the 1300 and carry this little stamper as a spare! Give ya $250 for it!!! (he says as he ducks and weaves to avoid the flying fists!)

Gene, I also remember the red ones around my area in the mid-to-late '60's. Also had a lot of red Trail 90's and black Super 90's at my school. All stampers!

Gorgeous work! I do wonder, however: will this be classified as a Moped, or a Motorcycle? The engine is small enough for a Moped -- which will not require an Endorsement, in most states. Really looking forward to seeing it finished. It will be factory new, or even better! Thank you for sharing. I started riding on a 1965 Honda 65cc bike, back in the mid-70's, as a boy. This brings back some memories. Cheers!
