LED Indicator/Turn 1157 Bulbs

Post by Neill004 »

If you decide to replace your front indicator bulbs with LEDs type 1157/BAY15D you may have a problem with the dash bulbs staying on all the time. This is due to a back feed from the running light part of the bulb and may be down to the quality of the LED bulb I'm using. There are 2 solutions if you have this problem.
1.Put a diode (with the bar towards the bulb) on the indicator feed wire. Grey or Green
2.As I have extra running lights fitted, I just cut the feed wire (Red/Blue) for the running light.
This has the added advantage of making the front indicator far more visible.
Bike is now fully LEDed and ready for our trip to Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.
