Birthday ride
Finally had the opportunity to get my wonderful wife on back of the bike this year. Such a busy year that we just couldn't "until today" find a nice day to get lost together. Well, today is my birthday and I got to choose what we were doing. There was chance of thunderstorms and the temps topped out at 96 but we put on just under 100 miles along the winding river road. We had such a good day. It was also a good pre-rally ride for the bike. On the possitive side. Even with her back surgeries, she said the seat was not an issue. She was good to go further. maybe we'll push it to an over night run the next time.

Re: Birthday ride
So,...Kirk,..it was hot yesterday and you went riding. Are you riding today at much nicer temps?
It was in the 90's the other day when Cindy and I were out riding, and at one stop she said "Let's not stop anymore!!! The sidecar's black seat gets too hot to get back in!". So does my Voyager's seat! I guess we need to make up some seat covers!
Now,.....you mentioned that she's had back surgeries. Not wanting to push this too far (heh, heh, heh!!!), but if riding on the solo bike as passenger gets to bothering her back too much for longer trips, I have a sure cure for that! Can you spell S...I..D...E...C...A...R...?
My first wife had serious back issues that put her in the hospital after the first ride I took her on on my '76 Gold wing. She owned a Corvette at the time and my first sidecar felt to her just like the 'Vette in seating position, so she was happy all day in it.
Wanna talk sidecars? She'll probably be bugging you to take her riding all the time if you do get one!

Re: Birthday ride
No ride on Sunday. Had to set a tile backsplash at my brothers house. I ride nearly every day to work but the weekends are so full we just don't get much time to get out and ride. She told me that this bike soooo much better than the last one that she has not had a sore back yet on it. her longest ride so far has been about 180 miles with plenty of stops along the way. I'm trying to work her into longer rides each time we get a chance.
I'll keep the side car idea in mind if it gets worse or limiting for her. thanks
