Re: oldr bikes
Billy, I have to grin at this in light of the bike listed under your username! The later 'Wings are just about the epitome of aerodynamic styling, at least for touring bikes!
But, I do agree in part with you. Just how old are you thinking? Before fairings? When gas tanks were soldered-up bean cans? When leather drive belts were the norm?
Or, maybe like my old '76 'Wing?

Re: oldr bikes
I have always thought my sidecar rig looks like an X-wing fighter with one wing shot off!

Re: oldr bikes
Come on! We want pics! We like lots of pics around here!
The first brand new bike I ever bought was my '69 Yamaha 350 when I was in the military! Left it perfectly stock the whole time I had it for the next three years. I think I wore the paint off polishing it so much. I still hate fairings at this point. I didn't get my first fairing until after I had my '76 'Wing for a year.

Re: oldr bikes
I always thought that the 1975 Goldwing looked a bit frumpy without the Vetter fairing, so I had the dealer install the fairing (along with saddlebags and a sissy bar) when I bought the bike new. That was oh! so many years ago.

Re: oldr bikes
I have already shown this picture once, My first really big bike which I got from a friend in the mid nineties. A GS1000LN I restored it at a ridiculous cost over nearly ten years of scouring Ebay for parts. But it was a blast to ride and gave me a love of seventies motorcycle. My first real bike was a Yamaha YCS1C 180 Street Scrambler. If I could find one today I would snatch it up. Mine met with a fiery end. I rode that to school rain or shine, freeze or heat. Loved it.
BTW Trikebuilder, That exact Yamaha was without a doubt my dream bike. Too bad I was a just a poor high school kid when it came out. I did have a model of it though.
