I found a 99 12 for sale. It has almost 100k miles. Seems to be well taken care of. Seller bought a new bike and hasn't touched this one for over a year. Of course it turned over but wouldn't start. Asking price $1500. My wife loves the idea of it too. Any thoughts and or considerations would be appreciated. How soon is the motor going to go before it may need to be rebuilt? Etc.
Thanks in advance.
Scott.

Have him start it and have it running. Otherwise offer him no more than $1200. Voyagers if well cared for have gone more than 300,000 miles without an overhaul.

Don't lay out any money till the owner presents a working machine to you, there are a lot of XII's for sale that have this amount of miles, that the owner has nothing to hide ,and can demonstrate a working machine to the buyer.
I can't wait to travel back down to Florida this coming December, and ride my 01'(that stays there) that has a tad over 100,000k on the clock, and still runs fine, I would not hesitate to ride that bike on any long trip !
