Front fender extension

Post by randallar »

I just bought a front fender extension off of eBay and it said it fits Voyager XII up to 93, mine's a 94. Me, I was thinking that all XII fenders were the same and bought it. I get it and it's too wide. I looked at the parts manual and they're the same part number between older fenders and newer fenders.

That's a front fender skirt. If it is for the XII it will fit all years from 86 to 03. I have been wanting that piece but I had a choice on ebay to bid on the front fender chrome trim with lights or that and I chose the former.

Obviously you chose correctly. Now I have a piece I need to find out what it fits so I can resell it. I was so glad I found one within my budget. Anybody knows what it is. Maybe 85-86 maybe they're different.

Gee, let me guess... the corner radius stands away from the plastic. I had made a die from an original skirt and when done I was not happy with its fit.
Went thru about 8 test blanks and 3 dies to get it right. Tony from Toledo has it and will install it this winters season for a rigid Quality Control inspection. It is not an easy part to manufacture. I have some blanks ready but am awaiting feedback from Tony on form/fit/ and function.... They won't be as cheep as you paid and will more than likely go for 90.00 with the stainless hardware.

I had one that fit that way on our '98 and it was for a 1500 Goldwing, if you know someone that has a 1500 you might try and if that's what it fits.

No this one looks like a Voyager XII front fender skirt but is like an inch too wide. Fits the sides but is way too wide.

OK, I was freaky out over nothing. The guy must have bent this thing flat to get it into the shipping box. After I started bending it, it actually fits. :bat: So alls good now. Thanks everyone for replying!!!
PS: ekap1200 is exactly right about the corners just not a tight fit.

I'm still waiting for my piece to arrive. Should have been here Tuesday but I suspect since I-10 has been closed west of here due to flooding, the trucks had to reroute. Maybe by the end of the week I will get it.
