That area is the drain for the valley the spark plug is located in. and it could be collecting fluid from a hose or t-stat located above the spark plug area.

Each spark plug has one of these drains. It also could be your head may be leaking right in that exact spot, but I would guess it is coolant fluid gathering from a above leak.

To check remove faux tank cover and battery (spark plugs are below battery) very hard to see down in there but you are looking for trail from above where the coolant hoses and t-stat are.

Are you sure it is coolant and not oil?? Any way follow the trail upward and see where it is coming from.

TIP:: If you can not see where exactly the leak is , clean the whole area with engine gunk and spray with baby power and then run engine for awhile (short drive) and check and it should show source of leak very plain.. let us know what you find may be just a turn of a bolt or hose clamp, hopefully.. Good Luck & Ride Safe..

Thank you for the reply, Doug.
Right where my finger is pointing, exactly above the E in "Made in Japan", is where the coolant bubbled out at. You can see the green coolant collecting at the bottom there, no oil in it. Little black gunk line is the spot it comes out at.

Know right where you speak under the battery. This site helped me turn a RH cooling hose into a LH cooling hose (the dreaded 39062-1149 DISCONTINUED) few months ago, and that's the area I was in. Now hearing from you that the spot I'm pointing at is a reservoir for overhead hoses is a relief. Of course, I just might be the culprit for the current leak, considering that's the area I was in. :hmm: Hoping that's it, because I can tighten those clamps, if need be.

My first thought was head gasket, which I was dreading to hear.

Heading to other side of bay to work on/tow bike as we speak.
Thanks again Doug

As it turned out, was exactly as you stated, Doug.
Was the RH coolant hose, leaking down, under high pressure, to the sparkplug reservoir.
As some of you suggested, a while back I went and got backup hoses, (those not discontinued) just in case, and thankfully had the hose.
My previous 39062-1150 RH backup hose had to be cut in half and spun to make a discontinued LH hose, and as it turned out, the RH hose was also discontinued when I tried to replace it.
Found one in Germany and it just arrived weeks ago.
Loved reaching into my Kawa-Box and saying "I have that part" and hour later was riding. :woohoo:
So thanks again, everyone...
