possibly buying a 2002
I am looking at a 2002 friday,5/25/18.The odometer the guy says has 13,000 miles.Way too few for a 16 year old bike but I have seen it before. The left side of the front fairing is missing. He said it was dropped. He says it runs and drives fine and did not try to buy plastic because he had another bike.It is cheap, less than $1000.What do I look out for when I go see it. I have dropped bikes many times myself, usually in the driveway, but still dropped. That usually doesnt mean a bike is ruined.Input appreciated.

... I think that scoot has what we all have... crash guards... a dropped scoot
should NOT result in plastic crush.... (methinks Ya are being fed a line'a bull...)
Do you know someone that is scoot knowledgeable? A second pair of eyes would
be invaluable to look it over while your are occupied with the seller... My very
first concern would be the front end.... make sure it tracks and drives straight/true
with no bad mannerisms... seals.. I'll guess all the fluids are crap... hope the gas is good...
With that many miles, it "should" be cherry.... no bad mechanics.... I'd wind
it in 1st and 2cd to see if it pops outta gear, bad tranny, also to make sure
it is running strong... yes, hit all gears and see the OD lite come on, cruise
works.... check the electronics out.. just make sure that you know if ya
are getting a nasty project scoot or not... very Best to Ya!!!!
... be curious how it turns out! TIA

Cranky I contacted him.I changed my mind.I already own 2 83 nonrunning yamaha venture parts bikes, a possibly soon to be running 86 venture, and a 81 yamaha xj650 that does run but may have valve train issues.I was wanting something i could ride right now.I always liked the voyager but instead I owned 4 goldwings,1100 and 3 1500s.I have heard voyagers handle much lighter.

.. hope I didn't scare Ya off.. it may be as he said... that machine
at those miles would be good for lots'a miles!!! ... and the Voyager is
one screamin' machine!!! I am afraid to open mine up!!
'course, I'm an ol' fart and I'm not in a hurry,... I know where I'm
headed and not in a hurry to get there!! GBG
From what I've heard, I'd think you're right on the Voyager handling...
Very Best to Ya no matter where Ya head....

You joined this forum almost 5 years ago and are just now looking for your first Voyager?
Th XII will handle similar to the 1100 wing you had but a lot peppier, but about 150 lbs lighter than the 1500 wing
