Cooling hose replacement

Post by Micoproviso »

I need a 39062-1149 Cooling hose, LH for my 1995 Voyager XII. Not available on any parts site that I've found, not in the dollar-for-dollar. The closest thing I've seen (from a post on this forum) is to get the 39062-1150 Cooling hose, RH, which is still available, cut it in half, and splice it back together with a sleeve thereby converting it to a LH hose.

Does anyone have a better idea, or a source to get the 39062-1149 correct hose?

There's a guy I get parts from (he is parting his out) so let me ask him if his is still available. It won't be NEW but it'll be functional. His bike is either a 93 or a 97, I think.

What reference were you using to determine that specific part number (39062-1149)? I just looked on Partzilla and they showed no such "1149" hose.

I was looking at the Water Pump page.

Hose-cooling, LH. It’s on the Partzilla water pump page (and a lot of other Kawasaki parts websites on the water pump pages) 39062-1149 is the correct number, it just shows as unavailable on every site.

Chris, if your guy has one, please let me know what he wants for it. I ordered 2 RH hoses, and will cut one in half to twist around and convert to a LH hose, but would rather have an good original if the price is reasonable.

If you are on FaceBook you can contact him directly: Terry King. In case there are more than one "Terry King's" in FB, he's the one that lives in Magnolia, Mississippi.

He gave me permission to use his name here. He says that he hasn't sold any hoses yet so you should be in business. He's a good fella.

With hose in hand , go to either Advance Auto or Autozone . there you will find a hose that will fit.
I had to do that at a Rally somewhere. Came home and bought another one the other side of the cyl head. Many yeas ago.

I did exactly that at Advance Auto Parts, O’reily, and AutoZone in Austintown, Ohio, and Napa in Girard, Ohio. All of which came back with something of similar length, but the wrong diameter, and not even close to the same shape. Maybe I’ll try a few other parts stores. They seem to sprout up around here like weeds.

Summersville, the rally from hell. That’s where my transmission went out and I had to rent a u-haul to get my bike down to Carl.

I got the two RH hoses I ordered today, and cutting one exactly in half, repositioning, and joining them back together fits and works perfectly. But I’d still like to get a one piece hose, so if anyone comes across a source please let me know.

While flushing and testing, I noticed that the original RH hose was bulging a little, so I ended up replacing that one also.
