Question RE: Engine Ice

Post by hank43 »

Clever marketing??

Kawasaki Voyager requires 2.5 quarts of coolant. (2.4L page 2-53 of shop manual) Engine Ice comes pre-mixed (with all kinds of warnings about using any water other than their own) in 2.0 quart containers for $22.95.

Question: Bite the bullet, and purchase another jug for $22, which will probably never be used, or top off with distilled water, or Propylene Glycol from local auto supply store?

Keep in mind, we do not normally get freezing temps in Sacramento, Ca., and besides, bike is kept in heated garage. It might get down as low as 40-50 degrees in winter, but as hot as 108 in the summer months.

Any Engine Ice users out there?

Thanx for the reply, did you read the other posts re: the KAMS kit? You were correct, Kawasaki did it, and I'm excited. Project to install is underway, and pipes have been wrapped.

Great group, great board, great organization. Lets go to Ohio!
