Hello Everyone,
Thank you in advance for your knowledge and experience with the Voyager. I have an 02 Voyager that is getting ready to get some work done on. I am planning on taking it to a local shop for the labor and hope to use Carl for the parts needed. Please take a look if you would and let me know what an estimate of parts/labor for the work done. Also, is there anything else that I should have looked at while all of this is being done?

Steering head bolt torqued
Motor mounts tightened
Full Service(Fluids changed,filters changed)
2 New dunlop E'3s purchased/mounted
Front Brake check rotor for warping(pulsing when pressure applied)
Rear Brake check for clicking
Carb clean/sync(low power upon 1st start up/day,) (drain floats for winter, will trailer bike home)
Fork Oil/Seals changed
Shocks check/replace
Headlight Adjust Knob fixed[/list]

I received the go ahead from my lovely wife to get everything fixed on the bike, I'm excited for it to be like near new condition/performance.

Again thanks in advance for your help.
Todd

I would suggest if your have the forks resealed and fluid changed to take a look see at the fork bushings too, and if you don't already have them, put Progressive springs in it, no more messing with air pressures and a better ride.

I would suggest if you are gong to do all you mentioned, I would send the carbs & front forks to Carl Leo. Who better to work on your bike than Carl. Change all the fluids yourself, this way you learn a little more about your XII and it doesn't cost you Big $$$. Buy Progressive rear shocks from Carl & put them on your self again saving Big $$$. Your wife will love your more & you might get to spend some of the "leftover $$" on some more bling for your XII and her or the other way around, anyway you get my point. You just might be close enough to get Gene to work on your bike....maybe

I agree, It's really not that hard to do with common hand tools and a way to support the front of the bike up tilted back on the center stand.

I would not trust the Dealer unless they have a lot of experience with the Voyager XII and you know them very well. Much more knowledge from the folks on this web site. I know from experience that I was ripped off from the only 2 dealers in my area many years ago. I will not let a dealer touch my bike. Ask them a couple of simple questions. 1. How much oil do you put in with an oil and filter change? 2. How do you know how much lube to put in the final drive after changing it? Let us know their answer.

Good idea! Also ask the dealer how many oil drain plugs the Voyager has. If the answer comes back as "one" than leave in a hurry!

I agree that most of the work on the XII is pretty simple that most people can handle and you will get to know the bike much better. Send pictures of problems (host the pictures elsewhere such as Photobucket) and ask questions.

+1 on the Progressive springs. I switched mine out this past Thursday and it makes a world of difference in the ride. :gig:
