Hi Everybody, i wonder if anyone can help with this?
i have an '86 Voyager xii which normally starts very easily. recently i noticed that if i have been out for a ride, stop for a short while & try to start up again the engine turns over ok but wont fire up! if i wait for 30mins then it restarts ok. any ideas what might be causing this? i'd appreciate any help. Thanks, John

Re: Voyager xii wont start when hot
This probably has nothing to do with your particular problem but does the ignitor have a part # that ends in 1179. If it does and the battery is low it can cause the engine to backfire breaking the starter chain. Very expensive to fix as the engine cases must be split. If that is the part # I would not start the engine again till it is changed. This was a problem only on the 86 & 87 as the ignitors were changed on the later models.............Gator Mike

And if needed, I have a spare updated one I would be willing to work out a deal on.Gator Mike wrote:This probably has nothing to do with your particular problem but does the ignitor have a part # that ends in 1179.
